Just ahead of its 22-year anniversary, the powerful collection of songs is still shaping the lives of listeners — even ones who weren’t yet born when the album first dropped.
Using art to inspire and heal
Jonathan “GNO” White, Tyrone Crethers, King Shakur and Anita Crethers are pictured on Sept. 2 at South Dallas Cultural Center in Dallas. A group of artists make up the Art Inspired Healing Collective, which teaches kids how to regulate and express their emotions through art.

2 Inspire Peace’s Art Inspired Healing Collective Receives Dallas City of Learning Neighbor Award
Through love and self-reflection — and with a little help from Lauryn Hill — 2 Inspire Peace turned the difficult circumstances of last summer into something beautiful. Over eight weeks, the nonprofit’s Art Inspired Healing Collective held “The Miseducation of Self,” which tied the Grammy Award–winner’s debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill into the 12 Stages of Healing.
